2010 English Camp Recruiting Begins

Conversational English Camps International is recruiting Ukrainian university-age students (youth ages 17-25) for its summer 2010 English camps in Pusha Voditsa. These camps are a great way to build friendships with North Americans, British, Australians and New Zealanders and to practice English with native speakers.

The focus is not on English teaching, but on creating opportunities for Ukrainian students to practice conversational English speech with native speakers.

There will be 10 to 15 North Americans, British, Australians or New Zealanders at each camp, and 15 to 25 Ukrainians. Each Ukrainian will live in a room with at least one American or British person. This is an opportunity to speak English 24 hours a day!

We will live in Dubek sanitorium in Pusha Voditsa, which has good living conditions (a toilet and shower in each three- or four-person room, plus great food). There is a forest right nearby for campfires and lakes for swimming. We'll play basketball, volleyball and American baseball--as well as other games and activities.

Camp dates:

July 13-22

August 3-12

Cost of the camp is 600 UAH, which includes 10 days at the sanitorium and three full meals each day. It's a great value!

Email UkraineEnglishCamps@gmail.com or call 8-097-386-7886 if you want more information or to schedule an interview. We will be holding interviews over the next two to three weeks at a library near KPI metro. Call for more details and to find out interview times, as they vary. We hope to make decisions about who will attend by June 6. Space is limited, so contact us soon. You don't want to miss this camp! It offers incredible English practice, plus it's a lot of fun!

Click on the links in the green sidebar if you want to watch video interviews with satisfied participants from past years. There also is a link to a video of one of the past camps, and a link to show the typical daily schedule at camp. Enjoy!

November 2009 Costume Party

Dressing up in costumes always makes for a lot of laughs! Vera, the Indian Princess, won the costume competition, but the Tolik the joker was pretty funny, and there were many other great costumes.

And it was pretty interesting carving pumpkins for jack-o-lanterns!

October 2009 Bowling and Pizza

It's always a lot of fun to go bowling and to eat pizza. What a great time to meet up again with friends and camp and to taste some homemade American pizza!

September 2009 Reunion Picnics!

We had a great time renewing friendships with other Ukrainian students at our two picnics in early September. We played fun games, tossed a frisbee, talked and laughed, plus we enjoyed some great tasting shashlik!
Here we are playing Giants, Wizards and Elves--a great game for laughs!
