More Christmas Party pictures

American Christmas Party

We had a great time feasting on American Christmas treats, playing gift-giving games and making reindeer antlers from pantyhose and balloons! :) It was a treat when Santa Claus showed up for a visit and gave everyone a bottle of shampoo for a present!

Costume Party

We didn't celebrate Halloween, but we had fun dressing up in costumes, playing games and eating lots of great food! Vera won the costume competition as Captain Jack Sparrow. But we had an artist, a court jester, a couple of mummies and various other characters represented. Of all the games, the funnest one seemed to be the chocolate-eating game--when we had to dress in bulky gloves and cut chocolate with a knife and fork! :) But the pumpkin-carving contest and the mummy-making contest were pretty fun too!

Bowling and Pizza

We had a great time bowling at the Vitamin club near Obolon metro--and eating homemade pizza! Shelley is a great Italian cook, and everyone loved it. I'm not sure who won the bowling--friendship won, I'm sure. Here are a few pictures from our event on Oct. 4.

Brief English camp video

Pictures from Ukraine English camp

We often play outdoor games together. In this game, we had a great time tossing and catching water balloons. It was great for laughs.

Ukraine English Camp Overview

These English camps are a great way to build friendships with Americans and British and to practice English with native speakers. The focus is not on English teaching, but it is on creating opportunities for Ukrainian students to practice conversational English speech with native speakers.

There will be 10 to 15 Americans or British at each camp and 15 to 20 Ukrainians. Each Ukrainian will live in a room with at least one American or British person. There is an opportunity to speak English 24 hours a day.

We will live in Dubek sanitorium in Pusha Voditsa, which has good living conditions (a toliet and shower in each three-person room and great food). There is a forest right nearby for campfires and lakes for swimming. We'll play basketball, volleyball and American baseball--as well as other games and activities.

Camp dates:

July 15-24
August 4-13
